Our story

From one cargo to six product lines.

2011

Ukrainian coal into the UK

Working through established contacts in Eastern Europe, the business sold more than 350,000 tonnes of coal from Ukraine into the UK energy industry. Phaeton was incorporated in the British Virgin Islands in the same year to continue and develop the business.

Next

Biomass fuel for heat and power

As demand for alternative and renewable fuels increased, existing Eastern European relationships provided access to producers of wood pellets and agricultural biomass. Phaeton expanded into biomass using the trading, shipping and inspection experience developed through coal.

Then

Fresh fruit and vegetables

Relationships across producers, freight operators, ports and customs created opportunities beyond energy products, including seasonal fruit and vegetables for wholesale and commercial buyers.

India

Cement, marble and textiles

Relationships developed in India opened a second major source of supply. Phaeton expanded into cement, marble, natural stone and textiles for buyers in international markets, with textile sourcing and exports also developed through Turkey.
